How to be a Gentleman
There is no standard measure on how to be a gentleman. Cultural variations suggest that norms differ, and sometimes, one’s gesture is unacceptable to another. However, researchers found out that one can learn to be a gentleman, even without the merits of academic education, affluence, or fame.
One article suggests that being a gentleman should laugh at a woman’s joke, even if it’s not funny at all. Now there is a setback. A man from Africa comments; faking emotions is not a sign of being a true gentleman. Today, there are dizzying numbers of tips on how to be a gentleman. However, no one can possibly remember all that and some suggestions are impractical. Simple and old values still count. For example, being neat and clean and hygienic gains respect. Listening intently when others speak, offering refreshments to a visitor, and speaking in a mild tone are good habits. This shows respect to others, not just to women, but your fellowman.
